I'm sure a lot of people have lied about their age at some point.
But have you ever told someone your real age, and they told you you were lying?

I look younger than my physical age. I turn 31 in October, and strangers will tell me they thought I'm still in school or say I look at least 10 years younger than I really am.
When I was 18, I went to Florida and people would ask me why I'm not in school and I'd tell them I was an adult and they'd say they thought I was like 13 or younger.

It's an amazing thing. I'm happy I look younger. But I also feel younger too, which people have said helps with confusing people about my age.
I don't do it out of maliciousness or anything, I just feel like I'm way younger .__.

I made visits to someone in prison and every single time, the guards would ask me if I was under 18 and asked how old I was and didn't believe me at first.
One of the last times I visited, the guard walked over to me and said "How old are you?" and I said I was 29 and she said "You don't look that old!" and this other visitor was like "I know! I thought she was 13!"
But it made me anxious because they're guards. With guns. And training. And to be told that I'm lying by them, scared me xD;

Have you ever lied about your age?
Has anyone made a mistake regarding your age?

i'm 24 and 5'0, i get this alllll the time. usually when i open my mouth to speak, people realize i'm actually an adult, but the way i dress/look doesn't really help since as a trans person i don't present myself in a mature feminine way... i end up just looking like a young boy with the way i dress.

i got carded like, 5 times in the same hour the last time i was in vegas LOL

Oh, yeah, the short height definitely works against us xD
I'm 5' 2'', a little taller than you, but still short.

I tend to have a soft, tiny voice when I speak to most people and I guess my mannerisms make me seem younger.
I think it's mostly because I'm socially inept and everyone is scary u8

I actually went to a store to buy cigarettes for my dad and the guy didn't card me and it made me feel bad xD

Me: Here's your cigarettes. You know, he didn't even card me 8u
Dad: Made you feel bad didn't it U8
Me: Yes >>

My mom said it's probably because she always shops there and she was friends with the guy and I've been there a few times so he probably knew my age but still >BU

I don't recall ever lying about my age. I remember a lot of girls would meet guys at the mall when we were like 14ish, and they would say they were like 16ish because they would flirt with older guys. But I never liked older guys, so I didn't lie.

I feel like everyone thought I was 14 up until I was like 25. And, past that, I think everyone thinks I'm like 50 now lol (I'm 35). For example, a guy once asked me if my kids are grown and moved out.... I don't have kids, but if I did they would not be grown and moved out!

The one that is funniest to me is when you forget how old you are (because honestly most of the time it never comes up) and then you lie ACCIDENTALLY when someone asks you, because you've forgotten. I don't know why that amuses me so much, but it really does.

I figure, I'll start paying close attention when I get nearer to an age I consider actually impressive.
I'm going to be an AMAZING centenarian!
I might need a little help from the youngsters in my family to stay stylish, but you know those old ladies you see sometimes, with rainbow nail-polish and who show off their super white hair with a barrette that looks like a tube of "whitening!" tooth-paste? The ones who draw a smiley-face on one of their eyelids with a makeup pencil so their winks show a winking face? And who have hilariously pithy sayings hand-embroidered onto their sweaters, instead of printed on t-shirts? Who wear aprons even if they're stuck in a wheelchair and who keep things like a small bottle of bubbles in their apron-pockets?

That sort of little old lady?

I'm going to be one of THOSE. :qsml:

Akili Li: I forget my age sometimes. I had the guards ask me and I was like "............27/28/29 u8 (visited for 3 years)"
>XD awwww

I already feel old sometimes because I am so late to certain things.
I don't know a lot of popular people, especially on Youtube and actors/actresses.

Eh, you know what Youtube is, that sounds plenty modern to me.

Back in my day we had real sites like Youtube uB< /old me

My uncle called the other day and he thought I was my sister because I sounded like a kid.
I just do that, actually. When I answer the phone or talk on the phone, my voice just changes .__.

Can you do it on purpose when you're not on the phone? Just stand around the the edge of a doorway out of sight and pitch your voice like your sister's and see how long you can confuse someone? :qwhee:
